Fosfomycin Trometamol 3g Powder for Oral Solution
Why Fosfomycin Trometamol is used:
Fosfomycin is used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women caused by bacteria sensitive to Fosfomycin.
Do not take Fosfomycin Trometamol:
• If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and Precautions:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including if you have:
• Experienced severe diarrhea due to the use of antibiotics.
Possible Side Effects:
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency of these side effects is unknown.
Very common side effects:
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Headache
• Upset stomach
• Vaginal itching or discharge
Other medicines and Fosfomycin Trometamol:
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
• Do not take Fosfomycin Trometamol with Metoclopramide.
How to take Fosfomycin Trometamol:
• This drug is not for use in children under 12 years of age.
• Take this drug exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Mix with 1/2 cup of water and drink immediately. Do not use hot water.
• The recommended dose is one 3g sachet orally as a single dose.
How to store Fosfomycin Trometamol:
• Store at room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 25 degrees Celsius) in a dry place.
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
