Product Description:
Minocycline is an antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline group. It works by preventing the growth of bacteria and treats only bacterial infections, not viral infections such as the common cold and flu.
Minocycline Hydrochloride Extended-Release tablets are indicated for the treatment of inflammatory lesions only of moderate to severe non-nodular acne vulgaris in patients aged 12 years and older.
Oral Minocycline is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of conditions, such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
Some people also take it to treat acne.
Minocycline belongs to a class of antibiotics called tetracyclines, which prevent bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow.
Your doctor may prescribe Minocycline if you have inflammatory acne that has not responded to other antibiotics, such as doxycycline.
Doxycycline, like Minocycline, belongs to the tetracycline family, but it tends to be milder and causes fewer side effects.
Read on to learn more about taking Minocycline for acne, including how long it takes to work and potential side effects.
