Amoxicillin 500 mg Capsules
Why use Amoxicillin capsules?
Amoxicillin is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria in various parts of the body. It can also be used in combination with other medications to treat stomach ulcers.
Do not take Amoxicillin capsules:
• If you are allergic to Amoxicillin, Penicillin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• If you have ever had an allergic reaction to any antibiotic.
Warnings and Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Amoxicillin capsules if you:
• Suffer from glandular fever (fever, sore throat, swollen glands, and extreme fatigue).
• Have kidney problems.
• Are not urinating regularly.
Possible Side Effects:
Stop taking Amoxicillin capsules and see a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects – you may need urgent medical treatment:
• Allergic reactions.
• Skin rash or flat, red, round spots under the skin surface or bruising.
• A delayed allergic reaction can occur, usually 7 to 12 days after taking the capsules.
• Skin reactions.
• Flu-like symptoms.
• High temperature (fever), chills, sore throat, or other signs of infection.
Other Medicines and Amoxicillin Capsules:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
• If you are taking Allopurinol.
• If you are taking Probenecid.
• If you are taking medicines to help prevent blood clots (anticoagulants).
• If you are taking other antibiotics.
• If you are taking Methotrexate.
How to take Amoxicillin Capsules:
The usual dose of Amoxicillin capsules is 250 mg to 500 mg three times a day or 750 mg to 1 g every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection.
How to store Amoxicillin Capsules:
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Store in the original packaging at a temperature below 30°C.
Do not use this medicine if you notice visible signs of deterioration.
