What is the pharmacological classification of Hylo-Comod?
Eye lubricants and moisturizers.
This medication is used to relieve irritated dry eyes, characterized by symptoms such as stinging or redness. Common causes of dry eyes include wind, sun, heating, air conditioning, reading, prolonged use of mobile phones or computers, and it may also result from certain medications.
Hylo-Comod drops can be used to treat dry eyes resulting from the use of contact lenses.
How to use Hylo-Comod eye drops?
Ensure the packaging is intact before use and close the cap tightly after taking your dose (if using a single-use unit like ampoules, discard the unit after use).
Tilt your head back slightly and look upwards.
Pull your lower eyelid down.
With the other hand, turn the eye drop bottle upside down near your eye. Try not to touch your eye while doing this.
Apply enough pressure to release one drop (or the contents of the ampoule) into your eye.
Ensure the medication has entered your eye.
Close your eye for a minute or two and press gently on the side of your nose; this is an important tip to prevent the loss of eye drops and keep the medication in place.
The recommended dose is one or two drops (or ampoules) in the affected eye(s) as needed.
A higher dose may be prescribed in cases of severe dryness.
Dosages may be adjusted under special circumstances.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.
What are the side effects of Hylo-Comod eye drops?
Side effects are less common when using eye lubricants, but the following may occur:
- Allergic reaction to the active substance, with symptoms including skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing.
- Eye redness.
- Blurred vision.
What are the warnings and precautions for using Hylo-Comod eye drops?
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you wear soft contact lenses.
Why is there a stinging sensation when applying eye drops?
