Naphazoline Hydrochloride, Pheniramine Maleate Eye Drops (0.027% Naphazoline Hydrochloride, 0.315% Pheniramine Maleate)
What is Naphazoline Hydrochloride / Pheniramine Maleate and what is it used for:
Naphazoline Hydrochloride is a decongestant used for the temporary relief of eye redness due to minor eye irritation and to alleviate allergy symptoms.
Pheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine used for the temporary relief of itching and redness caused by pollen, ragweed, grass, and animal hair and dander.
Naphcon-A is an over-the-counter (OTC) ophthalmic product used to treat allergic conjunctivitis.
Do not use Naphazoline Hydrochloride / Pheniramine Maleate if:
- You have a hypersensitivity to Naphazoline Hydrochloride or Pheniramine Maleate.
- You suffer from glaucoma, serious eye diseases, or have had previous eye surgery.
Warnings and Precautions:
- Do not use while wearing contact lenses.
- If you are being treated for high blood pressure, depression, heart disease, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism, consult your doctor before using these drops.
- Discard any remaining eye drops 28 days after opening the bottle.
- Overuse of this product may increase eye redness.
- If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, persistent redness, or if the condition worsens or lasts more than 24 hours, consult a doctor.
- Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy.
- Do not use if the printed seal on the cap is torn, broken, or missing, or if the printed seals on the top and bottom flaps are not intact.

Other Medicines and Naphazoline Hydrochloride / Pheniramine Maleate:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
- It may interact with other topical medications used to treat glaucoma.
- It may interact with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) and should not be used by patients receiving such treatment or within 14 days of stopping it.
- It may reverse the effects of medications used to treat high blood pressure.
- There may be an increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias in patients receiving cardiac glycosides (Digoxin), Quinidine, or tricyclic antidepressants (Amitriptyline, Desipramine).
How to use Naphazoline Hydrochloride / Pheniramine Maleate:
- For adults, children over 6 years old, and the elderly: 1 or 2 drops in the corner of each eye.
- For topical ophthalmic use.
- Gently apply the drops into the corner of the eye.
- Do not use more than 4 times daily.
- To avoid contamination, do not touch the tip of the container to any surface. Replace the cap after use.
How to store Naphazoline Hydrochloride / Pheniramine Maleate:
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25°C.
- Do not freeze.
