Why Fenofibrate is used:
Fenofibrate is used in addition to a diet to lower levels of triglycerides and LDL (bad) cholesterol in the blood and to increase the production rate of healthy (HDL) cholesterol.
Do not take Fenofibrate:
If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you suffer from kidney disease.
If you suffer from liver or gallbladder disease.
If you are breastfeeding.
Warnings and Precautions:
Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including if you have:
Problems with your kidneys, liver, or gallbladder.
Muscle problems.
Diabetes.
Hypothyroidism.
This drug may cause muscle damage, especially if you are taking a medication belonging to the "statin" family, if you are over 65 years old, if you have diabetes, kidney problems, or hypothyroidism.
This drug may lead to liver and kidney problems.
Your doctor may request regular blood tests to monitor their functions.
Possible Side Effects:
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
The frequency of these side effects is unknown.

Other Medicines and Fenofibrate:
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
Fenofibrate interacts with the following drugs: other cholesterol-lowering drugs, blood thinners such as Warfarin and Coumadin, immunosuppressants such as Cyclosporine and Tacrolimus, and drugs such as Cholestyramine or Colesevelam.
How to take Fenofibrate:
This medicine is intended for adults over 18 years of age.
Your doctor should advise you to follow a low-fat diet before taking this drug.
Swallow whole.
Avoid chewing, breaking, or crushing.
Some brands of this drug must be taken with food.
Other brands can be taken with or without food.
Consult your pharmacist to determine if you need to take your medication with or without food.
The usual recommended dose is one capsule or one tablet once daily.
How to store Fenofibrate:
Store at room temperature from 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 25 degrees Celsius).
Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the box.
